Nab Tower Race 2010.

The nab tower race is approximately 30 miles and is a fantastic opportunity to experience racing a bigger yacht in a fun and relaxed environment.

We always look to do our best and finish up the field but the emphasis is firmly on gaining experience and having a great time.

You’ll be taking an active part in crewing Neraida a Bosun Queen 55 Ketch. She’s a real classic, built in 1981 and coded above MCA Cat 2 specifications. All safety gear is onboard and we’ll have a race crew of 12. She has 8 bunks, 2 heads, full navigation suite and a well equipped galley. While not an out and out racing yacht she is easily capable of cruising at 8 to 10 knots while still having some creature comforts.

There will be 2 professional crew onboard to look after the tactics and navigation but you’ll be given ample opportunity to get stuck in and show us what you can do.

The race starts early on Saturday morning and we have a training afternoon on Friday. You should arrive by 11am Friday to join the training (Thursday evening arrival by arrangement) or no later than 9pm on Friday evening for the race day.

Food is included - breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast and light lunch Sunday.

See the 2010 programme for details.
